Veteran Women & Business: A Data Resource
NWBC’s latest report, Veteran Women & Business: A Data Resource, develops a profile of veteran women-owned firms through an analysis of the U.S. Census Survey of Business Owners and Self-Employed Persons and the Annual Survey of Entrepreneurs.
In particular, this resource explores business and business owner characteristics such as business size, employer and non-employer firms, industry, geography, startup capital, owner’s education and more. As the number of women serving in the military continues to increase, so will this dynamic subpopulation of women entrepreneurs and therefore it imperative to develop a deeper understanding of their impact, as well as the climate in which these businesses currently operate. This report serves as a data resource for the researchers and stakeholders who aim to support veteran women as they continue to have a greater presence the entrepreneurial community.
