New Research: Factors Influencing the Growth of Women-Owned Businesses


Washington, DC— Today the National Women’s Business Council released key findings on factors influencing the growth of women-owned businesses. The National Women’s Business Council initiated this research to determine the factors influencing and prohibiting growth of women-owned business. 
 
“The growth and development of women-owned businesses is an integral part of growing the national economy, said NWBC Chair Carla Harris. In an effort to formulate solutions and policy recommendations to advance the growth of women-owned businesses, we’ve identified key areas for women entrepreneurs to confront, including: risk tolerance, motivations, expectations, and culture. 
 
As women are rapidly entering into entrepreneurship it’s important that they are cognizant of factors that uniquely face women entrepreneurs. Our latest research continues to highlight issues impacting the growth and sustainability of women-owned businesses.”
 
The National Women’s Business Council research aims to broaden the scope as it relates to the factors influencing the growth of women-owned business. Studies have indicated women and men approach entrepreneurship differently. In order to narrow the business ownership gap and advance economic gains for women business owners, the National Women’s Business Council will continue to use its research to highlight critical issues of concern facing women entrepreneurs.
